Big Daddy[]

Bouncer
Big Daddy
RAPTURE'S GENETIC EXPERIMENT
Franchise Bioshock
Rivals Isaac Clarke
Sackboy
  • Gameplay:
    • The Bouncer doesn't have a lot of unique moves or available combos. Instead he relies on his armor and heavy damage to finish opponents.

    • 2-Enraged
    • 3-Flood
  • Rivals:
    • Isaac Clarke

      • Big Daddies and Isaac have both lost their minds. Isaac when he makes contact with the Markers and Big Daddies when they are turned into Big Daddies.

      • Delta who is a Big Daddy and Isaac can both hack different devices.

    • Sackboy
      • Both Bioshock and Little Big Planet place emphasis on the player's choices, moral and ethical choices for BioShock, and level and character designs for LittleBigPlanet.
      • Big Daddy and Sackboy also come in many different varieties.
      • Both also cannot talk and have someone else talk for them: Ryan Andrew Ryan for Big Daddy, and LBP's narrator for Sackboy.
      • It could also be a big vs. little motif.
      • Also in LittleBigPlanet, Sackboy collects bubbles and, in BioShock, Big Daddy is referred to as "Mister Bubbles" by the Little Sisters.
      • Both of their games have a motif for defying the impossible. Andrew Ryan in BioShock makes a speech expressing his dream of building a city at the bottom of the sea and making it a reality when he created Rapture (Zachary Comstock in BioShock Infinite accomplishes this similarly by building Columbia, a city in the sky). LittleBigPlanet's entire theme is about the player's creativity and imagination, allowing them to make anything when they put their mind to it using the game's tools.

Cole MacGrath[]

Cole MacGrath
Good Cole
THE PRIME CONDUIT
Franchise InFamous
Rivals Alex Mercer
Booker DeWitt
Jak and Daxter
Nathan Hale
Princess Plump
Raiden
Raiden (MK)
  • Gameplay:
    • TBW
  • Rivals:
    • Alex Mercer
      • TBW
    • Booker DeWitt
      • Both Cole and Booker's games deal with alternate realities. Booker and Elizabeth can open tears and go into alternate realities, while Cole can be either Good or Evil depending on the choices he makes. In the previous Bioshock games, the player also had a good and a bad choice to chose from depending on the situation, these choices, like in Infamous, lead to different endings.
      • Cole has the power of manipulating electricity because he was born with the conduit gene, in InFamous 2 he can also obtain the power to manipulate ice and fire. In Bioshock: Infinite, Booker can consume vigors and plasmids such as Devil's Kiss, Shock Jockey Old Man Winter which give him the power to manipulate fire, electricity, and ice respectively.
      • Both video games take place in made up cities Empire City and New Marais for InFamous and Columbia from Bioshock: Infinite.
      • Both Cole and Booker are confronted with alternate versions of their future selves. Cole faces Kessler in the first Infamous while Booker faces Comstock in Bioshock Infinite.
      • In the good karma ending of InFamous 2, Cole dies. In the "true" ending of Bioshock: Infinite, the version of Booker controlled by the player supposedly dies.
    • Jak and Daxter
      • In InFamous people with the conduit gene, have superpowers. In Jak and Daxter, Jak can also have powers with the help of a substance known as Eco. While under the effect of Dark Eco, Jak emanates discharges of purple electricity-like sparks, Cole has the power to manipulate electricity (that can either be blue or red).
      • In InFamous, the player can choose whether to follow a good path or an evil one, changing the appearance of Cole and the colors of his powers. Blue represents a good karma and red an evil one. In Jak and Daxter the most powerful types of Eco are know as Dark Eco and Light Eco. Dark Eco has the property to warp, mutate, and destroy things it turns Jak into one of his alter-egos Dark Jak, Light Eco contains the property of healing, restoring, balancing, and purifying, it turns Jak into Light Jak. Dark Jak and Evil Cole are both keen to destruction and Light Jak and Good Cole are calm.
      • Jak and Cole being the heroes can count on the help of their sidekicks, Daxter and Zeke. There are also two significant female characters for both heroes, Keira and Ashelin for Jak and Lucy and Nix for Cole. There's also a mentor/helpful side character, Samos, and Professor Wolf. And a villain that changes his appearance to something beyond human, Errol, and Bertrand.
    • Nathan Hale
      • From the perspective of InFamous 2 evil path, both Cole and Hale can be considered to be corrupted. Cole by doing bad things turned into an evil version of himself and Hale was infected by the Chimera virus.
      • Both absorb the power of the final boss in their games, Cole absorbs the Beast powers and Hale absorb Daedalus powers.
      • Both only appear in two canon games, Cole in InFamous 1 and 2, and Hale in Resistance Fall of Man and 2. Both appear in Uncharted 2 as a multiplayer skin.
      • Both have 'something' special in their organisms, Cole has the conduit gene and Hale has the chimera virus.
      • Both have the same haircut.
    • Princess Plump
      • Gameplay-wise, both InFAMOUS and Fat Princess rely heavily on duality with the colors red and blue representing different sides. In Fat Princess, you can choose either the Red Kingdom or the Blue Kingdom, and in InFAMOUS, Cole can become either Hero Cole, who is represented by the color blue, or Evil Cole, who is represented by the color red.
      • Both also have a theme of greed, with Evil Cole being power hungry and Fat Princess always being hungry and demanding for cake.
      • Cole, especially when the Evil Karma path is chosen, tends to be very independent while Fat Princess has her servants doing everything for her in Fat Princess.
    • Raiden
      • Cole MacGrath and Raiden have electricity-themed names; "Coal" is burned to produce electricity, while "Rai" and "Den" are the Japanese words for "Thunder" and "Electricity", respectively. Also, they both are associated with electricity, with Cole MacGrath being able to control it and Raiden being named after a mythological electrical creature in Japanese mythology, and also having electricity flowing through him. Raiden also displays some form of control over electricity during Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
      • Ironically, regarding their voice actors, Raiden's English voice actor voices two roles Cole's Japanese voice is known for, Axel of Kingdom Hearts and Reno of Final Fantasy (both by Square Enix).
      • Both of their respective games focus on absorbing energy from other sources in order to heal and recharge, Cole recharges from various environmental objects such as telephone poles, cars, and power generators while Raiden recharges his cyborg body by absorbing the electrolytes of other cyborgs when he rips out and crushes their spinal column.
      • The two characters have alternate personalities that affect their powers and in-game abilities along with coincidentally being related to the color red. Cole's powers change when the player chooses the evil path in inFamous with his lightning and clothes turning red. Raiden has his Jack the Ripper persona where he gives into his bloodlust and fights more viciously, in Metal Gear Rising the player can activate this persona with Ripper mode to make Raiden's attacks stronger and deal more damage and causes his body, electricity, and eyes to glow red
    • Rainden (MK)
      • Both have electric powers.
      • Both series have multiple timelines. In InFamous 2 the series timeline splits into two paths depending on Cole's choices. After Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Raiden sends a vision to his path self creating a new timeline.
      • Both characters have a dark/evil version of themselves, Evil Karma Cole and Dark Raiden. Both good versions use blue electricity while both evil versions use red.
  • Other:
    • Cole can't swim, while in the water he can only jump out the only exception being while he is under the effect of Big Daddy's level 3 super. Staying in the water (from stages not from Big Daddy's super) will cause Cole to take damage.
    • Good and Evil karma grabs are based on Cole's Finisher Moves and Ultra Moves from InFamous 2.
      • Kinetic Pulse is now also a grab
      • One of Evil Cole's grabs has him performing a Bio Leech on his opponent. This actually heals Cole just like InFamous.
      • One of Vampire Cole's grab has him biting his opponent.
    • The visual indicators for when Cole has a super ready are based on InFamous 2:
      • Good Karma - Overcharged from the some of InFamous missions.
      • Evil Karma - Bio Leech Overload
      • Empire City - Karmic Overload
    • Depending on the alternate color for Empire City Cole costume his powers can either be black and red, red or blue.
    • Cole can hang from walls.
    • Cole uses the Polarity Wall for his blocking animation.
      • Good Cole uses Frost Shield instead
    • Unlike in the InFamous games, Cole doesn't need to recharge his electricity.
    • His rolling animation is the same from the Infamous games.
    • Empire City Cole and Good Cole's Jacket and Kessler costumes are both different. Empire City Cole's costumes are based on their appearance in the first Infamous and Good Cole's costumes are based on their appearance in the second Infamous.
    • While dashing Cole uses his Induction Grind power.
    • To hover, Cole uses his Thrusters.

DmC[]

  • Supers:
    • 1-Overdrive
    • 2-Trillion Stabs
    • 3-Devil Trigger
  • Rivals:
    • Nariko
      • Both DmC and Heavenly Sword were developed by Ninja Theory and both are hack and slash games.
      • Both Nariko and Dante possess swords relevant to their story. Nariko wields the Heavenly Sword, a sword believed to have been forged in heaven for a deity and Dante wields the Rebellion a sword which was once his father's, Sparda, a demon. Notice the heaven-hell motif.
      • The way Bohan appears after being corrupted by the Raven King is very similar to the way Vergil (from the classic series) looks when he was corrupted.
      • Both games have heaven and hell themes. In Heavenly Sword, Bohan even says " A battle between Heaven and Hell" before fighting Nariko. In DmC: Devil May Cry, Dante is a Nephilim, a son of an angel and a demon.
      • Nariko and Dante have both faced persecution, with Nariko being rejected by her people, and Dante being wanted by the human authorities.

    • Dante pulls up both of his sleeves.
    • Dante points to the opponent, then gives them a thumbs down.
  • Intros:

    • Dante swings his sword downward, looks up, and says, "It's on!"

      • His attacks and combos are now properly named.
    • Activating Devil Trigger while not wearing his coat and/or his shirt will not make his coat appear like it did in PSASBR, this better reflects what happens in DmC.
    • Dante's dodging animations in the ground and in the air are based on the "Evade" move from DmC.
    • Dante's quotes now better match his DmC appearance but some quotes from DMC4 (that were present in PSASBR) can still be heard.

      • Both Cloud and Dart are sword fighters, and they both have intent to avenge the ones they lost, Dart to avenge his family, and Cloud to avenge his dear love.

Delsin Rowe[]

  • Rivals:
    • Carmelita
      • Delsin is considered a small town delinquent while Carmelita is a cop. Delsin's brother, Reggie was also a cop.
      • Sucker Punch developed both the InFamous games and the Sly Cooper games (except TiT). There's also easter eggs/nods between series.
    • Vergil
      • Delsin's personality is very similar to Dante's, care-free, enjoys showing off, etc. Vergil is the opposite being more serious.
      • Both Delsin and Vergil have brothers. Vergil has a younger tween brother, Delsin has an older brother, Reggie. While Dante embraced his humanity and initially rejected his demonic side, Vergil did the opposite. In a similar faction, Delsin was quicker to embrace his conduit powers than his brother. In both series, there is this contrast between a group of much stronger individuals and another who aren't even near as strong. In Devil May Cry there are the Demons and the humans. In InFamous there are the people with the conduit gene and the "normal" people.
      • Delsin's video powers display a contrast between light blue and light red colors as well as and enfaces in angels or demons depending on Delsin's karma. These include angel wings, demon claws, and summoning either demons or angels. In the main series of Devil May Cry, Vergil is a half demon and in the DmC version, he is half demon and half angel. The blue/red theme also matches Dante and Vergil. Delsin's good karma melee attack with the Video powers is a sword and Vergil is a swordsman. Cole, another protagonist from the InFamous series is known as the Demon of Empire City.
      • Delsin's Bloodthirsty Blades and Vergil's Summoned Swords look very similar. Vergil's Storm Sword has a name similar to Delsin's Blade Storm. Vergil's Heavy Rain and Delsin's subdue/execute while using Shroud of Invisibility are also very similar.

      • Yellow jacket / red hoodie - evil karma
      • Bluejacket / black hoodie - based on Cole MacGrath's alternate color for his jacket in PSASBR (Good Karma) - might also be based on Sly Cooper
      • Red jacket / black hoodie - based on Cole MacGrath's alternate color for his jacket in PSASBR (Evil Karma)
  • Idle poses:
    • Delsin starts hand drumming on his legs - SS idle pose -  video
  • Other:
    • Delsin can't swim, while in the water he can only jump out the only exception being while he is under the effect of Big Daddy's level 3 super. Staying in the water (from stages not from Big Daddy's super) will cause Delsin to lose some HP.
    • Delsin can switch between powers while in combat. This ability, however, doesn't require Delsin to absorb any substance unlike in Secon Son. He can also use all of his abilities without absorbing any substance.
    • The visual indicator for when Delsin has a super ready depends on the power he is using, it can either be a smoking aura, a neon aura or a video aura around him.
    • Good Delsin playstyle revolves around crowd control (based on the subdue choice in SS), timing and precision. Evil Delsin playstyle revolves around area-of-effect attacks, knock-ups, and raw damage.
      • Even so, while playing as Good Delsin his super still deals damage on top of subduing/stunning his opponents. Evil Delsin in comparison doesn't stun but deals more damage.
      • Abilities that would otherwise execute/obliterate enemies in SS only damage them in PlayStation All-Stars.
    • Good and Evil Delsin move sets are more similar to each other than Good and Evil Cole's.
    • Using Good Delsin's level 1 (video) will cause him to go invisible and stun various enemies (and damaging), this is based on the Enhanced Invisibility upgrade that allows Delsin to subdue various enemies without becoming visible.
    • Just like both Good and Evil Cole have exactly the same level 2 super, so do Good and Evil Delsin. Both supers represent powers that both pairs can utilize, Ionic Vortex for Cole and Concrete Dash for Delsin.
    • Delsin grabs are based on his executes or subdues, and on the melee weapon for Concrete.
    • Delsin uses his Thrusters to hover.
    • Delsin uses his Smoke Dash, Light Speed, and Video Surge to dash.
      • Delsin can run on walls with his Neon Power.
      • While in Light Speed, pressing the jump button will make Delsin use his Photon Jump power.
    • Delsin can perform a super jump while with either smoke or video powers.
      • He uses either his Car Boost ability or Signal Boost.

    • Some of Dr. Nefarious spawning quotes are the same from when he respawns in A4O.
    • Nefarious' level 2 despite being called Hypernova Defense Laser, is very similar to a moment in ACIT when Ratchet (disguised as Nefarious) can order the destruction of his minion (a laser comes from the ceiling destroying them). The quotes are also the same.
      • Still, the animation where his Space Station can be seen is the same from the start of his boss battle in ACIT where Ratchet has to run from the laser.

Heihachi Mishima[]

Heihachi Mishima
Heihachi
THE KING OF THE IRON FIST
Franchise Tekken
Rivals Akuma
  • Gameplay:
    • Heihachi is a powerful melee character who retains his Mishima-style karate in battle. Heihachi is stronger in the ground. Just like in Tekken, Heihachi has button commands that utilize attacks for each limbs. His level 1 super is based on one of his special moves from Tekken. His level 2 is based on the Tekken Tag Team games, Kuma appears and helps Heihachi. For his level 3 he traps his opponents in a rocket prepared to launch. Heihachi isn't the only character from Tekken now, as such he doesn't represent the whole Tekken series so the Trophy Toss/Beach Ball Toss moves are no longer present in his move set.
  • Supers:
    • 1-Lightning Hammer
    • 2-Kuma Tag Team
    • 3-Mishima Blast Off
  • Rivals:
    • Akuma

      • Akuma has a major role in Tekken 7's story mode, wanting to kill Heihachi.
      • Akuma uses an energy known as the Satsui no Hado, when he becomes one with this energy he becomes a humanoid demon like entity known as Oni. Similarly the Devil Gene is a supernatural genetic abnormality isolated in the people of the Mishima bloodline (wich came from the Hachijo bloodline), which allows the owner to transform into a humanoid winged demon like creature.
      • Both Akuma and Heihachi are native to japan. Both use a gi with a symbol on the back: Akuma has the kanji 天 and Heihachi as a tiger head.
    • Toro Inoue
      • Both Toro and Kuro were exclusive guest fighters in Street Fighter X Tekken, a crossover that Heihachi also appeared in.
      • Heihachi also originates from a fighting game franchise Tekken, and Toro's move set consist of elements from other fighting games (i.e. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and even Tekken itself).
      • Both also have something to do with adopting animals. While Heihachi adopted both Kumas, Toro was adopted by a sushi store owner.
      • Both the rivals can also only speak a certain language since Heihachi usually speaks Japanese while Toro and Kuro usually talk like normal cats.
      • Both of them also seem to be very famous in Japan.

    • 1-Zandatsu Technique
    • 2-Blade Wolf
    • 3-Jack the Ripper
  • Rivals:
    • Cole MacGrath
Raiden has his Jack the Ripper persona where he gives into his bloodlust and fights more viciously, in Metal Gear Rising the player can activate this persona with Ripper mode to make Raiden's attacks stronger and deal more damage and causes his body, electricity, and eyes to glow red.
